A request for a sponsored post recently came across my inbox for some e-commerce Shopping Cart Software. ashop offers shopping cart software that has won awards including the 2006 Fuji Xerox My Business Award.
The product they offer is a search engine friendly and hosted piece of software to allow a client to get an e-commerce site up and running with ease. As part of the package they offer 24×7 monitoring, multiple nightly backups and a 99.8% uptime guarantee to offer you peace of mind with your purchase.
Prices start from $69USD a month and range up to $349USD a month, and they do offer a 10 day, no obligation free trial to get you started.
Now that you know *what* they offer… my thoughts. The site is quite professional with an easy to understand layout. When I attempted to use the admin demo of the standard layout however I was unable to use my browser of choice (Firefox). I had to switch over to Internet Explorer so this is something to look out for.
Once in the admin demo, once again the layout was exceptional. It was easy to understand and I was able to move around quite easily without needing to view the video tutorials (which were available). And I have to note that it contained a comprehensive (and rather spiffy looking) statistics area which provided breakdowns based on referrers, country and search engines to name a few.
The front end (user view) worked in Firefox without issue and the shopping cart worked flawlessly as far as I could tell. The sites loaded quickly and I did not see any lag at all (which I must say I was impressed with).
So to sum it up:
The Good:
Great site, professional, easy to use administrative interface
The Bad:
Administrative interface did not work on Firefox, this is a big downer for me. Also I could not see an option to host your own, so this may be something to take into consideration.
Summary:
ashop is certainly one to take a look at if you are looking for comprehensive ecommerce software. See the site at
